Dennis S. Chi, MD, FACOG, FACS

Dennis S. Chi, MD, FACOG, FACS, is the incumbent of the Ronald O. Perelman Chair in Gynecologic Surgery, Deputy Chief of the Gynecology Service, and Head of Ovarian Cancer Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). He has been a faculty member at MSKCC since graduating from fellowship there in 1997. From 2001-2014, he was Co-Director of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery and the Director of both the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship and the Pelvic Reconstruction Clinical Research Fellowship. He established the International Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program at MSKCC and was the Director of the program from 2004-2014. In 2014, he established the section of ovarian cancer surgery (named “Team Ovary”), the first gynecologic oncology team in the United States dedicated to improving the surgical and survival outcomes of patients with ovarian cancer. Since that time, Team Ovary has authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and overall his research has led to over 370 peer-reviewed publications mostly focusing on surgery for gynecologic cancers. He is an editor of multiple textbooks and the lead editor of one of the authoritative textbook in the field of gynecologic oncology, Principles and Practice of Gynecologic Oncology, 8th edition. In March 2024, he was given the Society of Gynecologic Oncology’s Lifetime Achievement Award at their annual meeting.
