Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of gynecologic oncology is evolving rapidly. Prospective clinical trials are the gold standard for establishing new treatments, but are expensive and take time to complete. The diagnosis and management of rare conditions is frequently based on the experience reported in retrospective studies and case reports. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses aim to bring together all of the available information in an effort to reach the best conclusion. The EJGO is planning a special issue devoted to systematic reviews and meta-analyses of important and emerging topics in gynecologic oncology. These may include the diagnosis and management of rare gynecologic cancers, new radiation therapy techniques for the treatment of gynecologic malignancies, advances in the surgical management of gynecologic cancer, advances in the medical management of gynecologic malignancies (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, molecular targeted therapy), advances in early detection and prevention of gynecologic malignancies, and new prognostic markers. All submissions should follow the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines and will undergo peer review. Acceptance for publication is dependent on positive peer review.
