Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, entitled “Recent Advances in Gynecological Oncology Surgery”, will focus on the most current and innovative approaches to the surgical management of gynecological malignancies. Gynecological oncology has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, driven by technological innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and advances in translational research. Modern surgical practice increasingly integrates minimally invasive techniques—such as advanced laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgery—with enhanced recovery protocols, allowing for improved patient outcomes, reduced morbidity, and shorter hospital stays.
The rapid integration of artificial intelligence, advanced imaging, and intraoperative navigation systems is reshaping decision-making and precision in the operating room. Moreover, developments in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and tumor profiling are enabling more tailored surgical strategies that align with individual patient and tumor characteristics, thus promoting a truly personalized approach to care.
This Special Issue aims to bring together original research, systematic reviews, and expert perspectives that highlight breakthroughs in surgical techniques, perioperative management, and the role of surgery within multimodal treatment strategies for gynecologic cancers, including endometrial, ovarian, cervical, and vulvar malignancies. By fostering a global exchange of expertise, we hope to contribute to the continued evolution of gynecologic oncology surgery, ultimately improving survival rates and quality of life for women worldwide.
